The most important thing to remember when you use LinkedIn as a platform to do Cold Calling is to understand the value of using the default format that LinkedIn provide to create a personal profile that screams "I am available" to serve you with your need.
Most individual's profiles on LinkedIn is created on the basic format LinkedIn provides. But how do you make your profile stand out from the average John Doe on LinkedIn. I would like to share a couple of tips with you which I found worked for my business. Nothing stops you from also making this few changes to your individual profile if you are seeking for employment.
1. PERSONALIZE YOUR LINKEDIN BANNER

Nothing screams more loud to the viewer on your profile than the banner. Change the banner from the default blue LinkedIn banner to one that is more personalized to who you or your business are. Make sure you capture what you do in a few catching words in the banner. That way when someone views your profile they know exactly what you do or how you can help them.
2. OPTIMIZE ALL 120 CHARACTERS IN THE HEADLINE
LinkedIn allows you to use 120 characters in the headline, so why only sticking to your current title? Why not elaborate more on what you do, how you do and and how someone can benefit from what you have to offer? That way whoever is the viewer of your profile can see in a summary what your specialties are. Remember to keep keep this in line with the caption you've used in the banner. Just elaborate more on that few catching words you've used in your banner.

3. SELL YOUR BRAND IN THE SUMMARY
Use the summary space to not just include your experience but also what you like to do. Maybe you wondering now how that is possible. Well ... easy. Think about it ... let's say you've studied to become an assistant and you've obtained the qualifications thereof ... but since you started your career you've been exposed to some events coordinating and you've found that you love doing that ... why can't you give your summary a events-coordinating twist and flavor? Informing your viewer of not only what you qualified for but also what you love doing?
