CORONA FEAR ... DON'T NEGLECT ... ACT!

The Corona Virus is effecting all businesses big and small and therefore it is important to plan ahead and have plans in place for when a crises like this emerges. Planning for a crises is often left until there is no time to plan, and then a hurried and chaotic response may actually do more harm than good.
This is unfortunately the state in which many organisations find themselves with the outbreak of the Corona Virus. And with the infected numbers rising every single day it is an issue of immediate concern.
Marketing teams should be prepared and have a strategy plan in place on how to act in the best way on behalf of the company in times like these. The question that should be asked is "what are the most critical actions to take now?"
Here is a guideline of some aspects that can be taken into account when looking and developing an action plan and specific actions you should consider with the situation we face today.
* Create and select a team, like a task force - a team that can take action in times of a crises.
* Prioritize issues of greatest urgency. So make sure the team you put together is those who can think on their feet.
* Develop a protocol in times of emergencies and make sure that your team are fully aware of this protocol.
* Prepare a communication engine. So many companies implement strategies and plans but NEVER correspond it to their employees, clients or audience. So make sure you inform everyone about everything.
* Develop open communication with employees.
This is just a few things to take into consideration. And remember ... don't neglect ... act!
